General Description:

• Conduct analytical tests to determine material composition, purity, resistivity, density, porosity, etc., using standard methods.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize laboratory equipment, from simple to complex, ensuring optimal functioning for testing requirements.
• Design and implement testing methods, procedures, sampling plans, and data collection systems; analyze and report data, including charts and graphs, to support quality decisions.
• Perform stage two inspections of incoming materials or parts, check characteristics, take samples, and determine acceptability; prepare reports on defective materials and reject unsuitable items.
• Conduct tests such as density, resistivity, ash content, physical dimensions, hardness, flexural strength, spectrographic analysis, and porosity, following prescribed methods and using standardized instruments.
• Work from complex drawings and specifications; monitor final inspections for quality assurance regarding dimensions, workmanship, and surface finishes.
• Maintain continuous improvement in quality through product delivery, conformance, and performance monitoring.
