Matagorda Regional Medical Center is seeking a forward‑thinking and security‑conscious Network Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role is ideal for an early‑career professional (0‑3 years of experience) who is ready to take on the challenge of engineering and securing a mission‑critical healthcare network.

The Network Engineer will be a key member of the team responsible for the design, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of our enterprise network. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure that underpins all clinical and operational functions of the hospital. This role requires a blend of hands‑on technical skill, strategic thinking, and a steadfast commitment to protecting patient data and enabling exceptional care.

• 0-3 years of hands‑on experience in network engineering or a related IT infrastructure role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• A strong, demonstrable understanding of modern cybersecurity principles, network topologies, and intrusion detection methods.
• Proficiency with core networking protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, 802.1Q trunking).
• A proactive and analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

• Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Security+, or similar.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade networking and security vendors (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and networking services.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools to streamline network operations.
• Experience in a healthcare IT environment or another regulated industry.
