Part‑time sales associate at Rack Room Shoes, Bay City, TX.

Job Description Summary

Adhere to and practice the company’s service standards with each customer. Meet both sales and work goals as directed by store management, while following the company’s policies and procedures. Lead other team members by example in the accuracy and completeness of work. Together, work toward the common goal of presenting the store, its merchandise, and yourself in the best possible light.

Control cash and maintain accuracy of sales transactions, process all sales through the POS terminal in accordance with policy, and maintain strict control of all monies and documentation.

• Create an excellent shopping experience for customers through awareness of service standards; maintain a positive attitude and be well informed.
• Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of current sales promotions.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, ensuring stock is well arranged and merchandised properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all store areas.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
• Remain aware of loss‑prevention concerns involving customers and staff members.
• Participate in physical inventories, assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, and participate in merchandise placement on the sales floor when needed.
• Process all sales as a cashier in accordance with existing policy and procedure; check all shoes for mates.

• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers and all employee levels.
• Basic verbal and nonverbal communication, organizational, and math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of store presentation standards.

Pay Range: $14.00–$27.00 per hour.
