Maintenance Supervisor

The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team. This position is accountable for supporting plant maintenance in order to reach the maximized availability of machines with optimized costs; to ensure the proper conduct of maintenance activities and to improve and maintain the technical facilities of the plant under exemplary conditions of environment, health and safety.

This position will report to the EMRA Leader for the assigned area.

Responsibilities:

• Champion the Novelis Safety Absolutes to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Authentic, Say Anything, Be Open and Built Trust

• Lead preventative maintenance of machines (including obsolete machines)

• Effectively Manage budgets of equipment maintenance, repair and refurbishment projects

• Develop and Maintain collaborative and productive relationships between Maintenance Teams,Operations and Process.

• Support quality improvement process awareness and teamwork during all aspects of maintenance operations

• Support safety awareness and environmental consciousness throughout the maintenance organisation, and comply with all applicable Novelis safety and environmental procedures and regulations.

• Defines and follows-up of the maintenance targets and action plans in order to optimize machine availabilities

• Analyzes downtimes and implements the required corrective actions to improve the reliability

• Defines the works planning in collaborattion with production to maximize efficient outage execution and uptime for the process.

• Supports the production initiatives to improve the plant efficiency & uses Lean Principles to support improvements to processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year degree, 2-year technical degree; or experience equivalent preferred (Electrical or Mechanical background)

• 5+ years industrial maintenance or equivalent experience preferred.

• Experience leading people.

• Experience scheduling and planning of work and personnel.

• Very high mechanical proficiency

• Experience using contractor management to perform project and maintenance activities.

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
