PositionDescription
Paint various protective coatings to piping, fixtures, and equipment. Remove old paint and prepare surfaces prior to painting. These duties are performed safely and timely with the highest quality possible.
Job Responsibilities- Use brush, airless, compressed air, and roller methods.
- Apply knowledgeable application techniques.
- Handle epoxy, latex, or enamel coatings.
- Select and mix coating additives to thin or promote drying and adhesion.
- Use high‑pressure sandblasting equipment, chemical application, power tools, or other abrasives to remove rust and foreign matter prior to painting.
- Prep and prime surfaces before coating.
- Employ respiratory protection as required.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years’ experience in the construction field.
- 40 or more hours per week, with possible weekend work.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Trained and qualified to build scaffolds, inspect ladders, and operate man lifts for access.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with supervisors and co‑workers.
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure or ruler and use a calculator to calculate paint quantity.
- Physical capability to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, and reach repetitively; ability to operate in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
- Capacity to work from 200 feet and, in some cases, wear a respirator.
- Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and criminal background check based on location and requirements.
- Industrial experience required.
