Northwell Health’s Behavioral Health Service Line is recruiting a full-time or part-time BE/BC Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatrist at South Shore University Hospital located in Bay Shore, New York.
South Shore University Hospital is Northwell’s rapidly expanding tertiary care hospital in the Eastern Region with a recent $600 million investment as part of its transformation: with centers of excellence in heart and lung, neuroscience, neurosurgery, and maternity care. The renovated Emergency Department contains a state‑of‑the‑art locked psychiatric wing built to CPEP specifications, with a multidisciplinary team including social work support.
About the Role- Provide consults to the medical‑surgical floors, psych ED, and ED‑observation areas
- Team includes Psychiatric NPs, PAs, SWs, medical students, PA students
- New Psychiatry residency program (with South Oaks Hospital) to commence 2026
- Full time Mon‑Fri 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. preferred
- Would consider part‑time and/or 12‑hour shifts (8 a.m.–8 p.m.) for the right candidate
- No nights or weekends, no inpatient or outpatient psychiatry responsibilities
- In‑house moonlighting opportunities; extra income for beeper‑call and/or weekend shifts
- A great schedule and fantastic department!
- Must be BC/BE and licensed in NYS
- Superior computer and EHR skills, Emergency Psychiatry or CL experience preferred
- Must be able to assess ED and CL patients of all ages
