The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Service line at Northwell Health’s South Shore University Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Intensivist to join our team in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
South Shore University Hospital is the easternmost Long Island tertiary hospital for Northwell Health, located 30 miles east of NYC on the south shore of Long Island. This 305-bed hospital is rapidly growing with plans to potentially expand to over four hundred beds. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed ICU unit with an additional 4 Stepdown beds.
The service line performs 600 cardiac-related surgeries per year, including open procedures, transcatheter-based therapies, ECMO, and LV support for high-risk PCI.
Candidates must be fellowship trained and Board Certified in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery. Primary board certifications can include Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery. Candidates graduating from their sub-specialty training will also be considered depending upon CTICU experience during fellowship training.
