Teacher Assistant – Full Time with $1,500 Sign on Bonus

The Children’s Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to twenty‑one in their pre‑school and after‑school programs. We currently have an opportunity for a Teacher Assistant to join our Bay Shore facility.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will assist classroom staff with all classroom related duties and serve as an active facilitator of children’s educational and behavioral goals by role‑modeling and interacting with students as part of a trans‑disciplinary team. You will provide educational intervention, under the direction of the special education teacher, to help each child reach their highest level of independence.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- New York State Teacher Assistant Certification required.
- Minimum of one year experience working with children in a classroom or childcare environment. Working with children with special needs preferred.
- Ability to work with and supervise children in a variety of educational settings including, but not limited to, self‑contained, integrated, off‑site, and childcare.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to supervise children independently.
- Physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of day‑to‑day activities of preschoolers which may include running, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Bilingual preferred.
- ABA experience preferred.
- Pre‑school Classroom, Daycare, Classroom Set‑up.
- Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
35 hours per week, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
