Base pay range

$46.00/hr - $56.00/hr

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images; maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation.

• Prepares patient for exam, relieves pre‑testing anxiety, translates examination into layman terms based on professional knowledge, and ensures consent form for procedure is obtained if necessary.
• Performs various x‑ray exams according to established standards and department procedures; positions patient for radiographs; arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices; adjusts x‑ray equipment to obtain correct exposure; monitors patient’s condition; recognizes and reports motor abnormalities, fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc.; records patient history data and requisition information; maintains exposure and processing records; operates equipment to transfer images to film and archive to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images; labels film, maintains required records, marks images correctly, and enters exam onto daily log sheet and tracking steps.
• Performs related duties as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program (required).
• New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (required).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration (required for positions filled after April 18, 2010).
