Brake Technician

Location: Southend

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - 6:00am to 6:00pm

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brake Bay Technician to support the company's repair and overhaul activities within our aircraft component maintenance operation. This is a key technical role focused on the inspection, repair, overhaul, and return-to-service of aircraft wheels and brakes. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated maintenance bay, ensuring all components are serviced to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

• Perform inspection, assessment, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brake components.
• Accurately identify parts and determine work scope using work orders and computer-based maintenance systems.
• Ensure all components are processed in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer data, and aviation regulatory requirements.
• Document all work carried out, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Operate workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant working environment.
• Escalate any defects, tooling issues, or irregularities to supervisors promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team performance targets.

• Previous experience in a mechanical, component maintenance, engineering, or workshop environment
• High attention to detail, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience with aircraft wheels and brakes maintenance.
• Engineering or mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, etc.).
