As a Kitchen Assistant at MoE CPK in Hawke’s Bay
, you’ll assist with the preparation, reheating, and dispatch of meals for schools, ensuring compliance with food safety and health standards. This hands‑on role involves working in a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential. This is a Casual Position with hours of work on an “as and when” basis upon business needs during school terms.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and store delivered meals, monitor temperatures, and ensure HACCP compliance.
  • Prepare and reheat meals according to safety and quality standards.
  • Pack and dispatch meals for delivery to schools.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area, including equipment and waste management.
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning and plating as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Team player with a flexible, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and able to work autonomously when required.
  • Good communication skills and commitment to food safety practices.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage.
  • NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) desirable.
  • Applicants must be NZ residents or hold a valid NZ work visa.
  • Successful candidates must pass satisfactory pre‑employment checks.
