Mechanic Apprentice Active Staffing Services
• Bayonne, NJ, US
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanic Apprentice to join our maintenance team. This is a hands‑on, full‑time opportunity ideal for someone eager to learn the mechanical trade and grow their skills while working alongside experienced mechanics. Training and mentorship will be provided by seasoned technicians to support your development and success.
Schedule & Pay- Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Sundays as needed
- Overtime:
Built into the schedule
- Assist experienced mechanics with preventive maintenance tasks
- Support equipment inspections and perform basic repairs under supervision
- Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues while learning proper diagnostic techniques
- Safely use basic hand tools and power tools (training provided as needed)
- Follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and company policies
- Work collaboratively with senior technicians and maintenance staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic mechanical or technical aptitude
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools, or strong willingness to learn
- Basic math skills for measurements and simple calculations
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Positive attitude and strong desire to learn
- Dependable, motivated, and detail‑oriented
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Steel‑toe footwear required
- Position is primarily hands‑on
- Interest in learning mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Previous experience in:
- Mechanical work
- Facilities maintenance
- Construction
- Apprentice roles
- Forklift certification (a plus, not required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (a plus)
- Candidates who have their own basic hand tools (power tools and additional tools are supplied)
- Hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced mechanics
