The Mont Belvieu Police Department is accepting applications for a certified Police Officer, who is committed to excellence. The City of Mont Belvieu is a growing community located on IH 10 east of Houston, Texas in Chambers County. These positions are responsible for performing regular patrol duties to protect life and property by discouraging the commission of crime and are responsible for answering calls for service (CFS) within the city limits.

The Position Requires

• TCOLE Certification.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Be a U.S. citizen and be of good moral character.
• Must be able to read and write the English language.
• Must possess a valid TX driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to perform the duties of a police officer.
• Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor above a class
  
  C.
• Must not have been convicted of any family violence.
• Must not be currently under indictment for any criminal offense.
• Must not have been convicted, at any time, of a felony offense.

Successful candidates must undergo pre-employment testing, extensive background investigation, oral interview board, polygraph examination, psychological examination, medical exam, and drug screen. Must be willing to work shift work, holidays, weekends, and scheduled overtime. Must be able to perform the duties of a police officer.
