Responsibilities- The Welder position includes fitting and welding pipe joints in accordance with Company established PQR and WPS procedures.
- The Welder is expected to be knowledgeable in welding a range of materials including carbon steel and 316L stainless steel using TIG and/or MIG welding processes.
- Follows and complies with all safety procedures and regulations at all times, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment and demonstrates regular attendance.
- Maintains traceability throughout fabrication and ensures correct materials are welded.
- Welds components in accordance with established PQR and WPS procedures and prepares components as required.
- Maintains cleanliness and preparation of components, including separation of carbon steel and stainless steel parts.
- Inspects welds against product criteria and reports quality defects to supervisor.
- Reworks non-conforming parts in accordance with NCR dispositions and approved documentation.
- Ensures work order documents are filled out correctly and maintained in the work packet.
- Works in accordance with Flex Steel’s Quality Management System and Customer requirements, and supports other manufacturing operations as needed.
- Stages and stores completed components to prevent damage during transit to the next operation.
- Follows all 5S practices and supports lean activities and problem solving.
- Maintains production requirements and goals in the weld area and meets customer delivery expectations.
- Works as part of a multi-functional team to promote continuous improvements to safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and product development.
- Other duties as assigned by Shift Team Lead.

Education, Experience and Qualifications- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Welding certification or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years manual TIG/MIG welding experience.
- Ability to read prints, WPS, and work instructions to understand the approved manual welding process.
- Ability to read and understand x-ray films.
- Experience welding stainless and carbon steel metals.
- Ability to weld groove welds in the 1G position.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting production metrics.
- Must be a team player.
- This position may require: pre-employment drug screening, background checks, medical examinations, safety certifications, valid driver’s license, ability to wear PPE, and travel to remote locations.
