Job Summary
Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and performing site work based on accepted company procedures. Duties include overseeing the loading and unloading of materials, monitoring inventory levels, testing material, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Essential Functions- Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
- Promote safe work habits to help create a zero‑injury safety culture
- Attend regular safety meetings and follow all safety guidelines as required
- Maintain communication with utilities
- Monitor and record fly‑ash levels in silos and place orders as needed
- Pull samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing and perform required tests
- Load trucks, rail cars, or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
- Unload trucks, rail cars, or other delivery systems to fill fly ash silos
- Weigh trucks and rail cars and record the information in the relevant operating system or production sheet, creating tickets for billing
- Operate all loading equipment for trucks and rail cars, including water trucks, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, or forklifts on site when required
- Operate production equipment, including start‑up and shut‑down
- Assist in the disposal operation where required
- Perform maintenance on grounds, equipment, and facilities as directed
- Maintain all required paperwork and reports
- Demonstrate regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
- Report any safety, quality, equipment, or maintenance items to the supervisor
- Assist with maintenance repairs and projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Respond promptly to customer needs
- Follow established policies and procedures
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
- Communicate verbally with clear instructions, report issues, and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors
- Read and comprehend simple instructions
- Manage time effectively and meet productivity standards
- Observe safety and security procedures, using equipment and materials properly and following all safety absolutes
- Deal with problems and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Work well with others, follow instructions from supervisors, and coordinate tasks with coworkers to achieve project goals
- Be consistently punctual and reliable
- Be willing to work rotating on‑call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Adapt to changing job site conditions, equipment requirements, and project priorities
The employee should have the following
- High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in a relevant skill or trade
- 1–2 years of experience in a relevant field
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
- Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
- Prolonged standing or sitting in a stationary position
- Occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Perform repetitive movements, bend and/or twist
- Ascend/descend stairs or ladders
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Move or traverse around the facilities
- Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, and hard‑hat protection)
