The crane rigger will assist the crane operator in the preparation of moving heavy materials, equipment, and the building of mobile cranes.
** Duties and Responsibilities
*** Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the precheck process.
* Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
* Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
* Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
* Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
** Required

Qualifications & Skills
*** High school diploma or equivalent.
* CDL preferred.
* NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification - preferred.
* 3+ years previous experience as a rigger.
* Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
* Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
* Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations and wight limits.
* Problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
* Previous experience using crane hand signals.
* Team player who has excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
** Physical Requirements
*** Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
* Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65lbs.
* Most be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
* Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.
* Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
