About the Role
We are hiring a Floater Teacher in Beach Park, IL. Start Early Lake County provides high-quality care and a stimulating learning environment for children from birth to five years old. As a program that serves low‑income families, our research‑based curriculum helps children develop literacy, language, early math, and social‑emotional skills needed to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and regularly monitor child education binders for each child, ensuring all confidential information is protected.
- Participate in recruitment efforts to maintain full program enrollment; schedule home visits and adhere to guidance policy.
- Monitor daily attendance, health checks, parent sign/scan, and meal participation reports, and document each child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate experiences that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development; use standardized assessment data to create learning opportunities.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that implements appropriate child guidance and discipline techniques in accordance with Start Early’s philosophy and curriculum.
- Assume responsibility for classroom management during the teacher’s absence and schedule parent/staff conferences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD) preferred OR Associate’s Degree working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or CD.
- A minimum of six months’ experience in an early childhood program.
- Clearance of background check by the Department of Children and Family Services.
- Biannual physical examination and TB test required as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Salary: $45,778.00 – $66,067.00 plus a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.
