Systems Engineer, Data Engineer
In this role, you will provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of advanced energy and cooling solutions for data centers. You will be responsible for enhancing the overall knowledge base, technical capability, and best practice development in the field of data center energy and cooling solutions. You will leverage your extensive industry network to build collaborations across hyperscalers, neoclouds, colocation and cloud service providers, and enterprise data centers.
Partner closely with the VP of Energy & Cooling and the VP Data Center Chief Architect to define and execute long-term strategies. Maintain an awareness of research, trends, and industry developments that may provide opportunities and impacts for the data center segment. Monitor industry developments to capture a global view of the data center technology developments in comprehensive regular reports.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hyperscalers, neoclouds, colocation and cloud service providers, and enterprise data centers, and partner ecosystems (e.g., cooling technology providers, facility operators, OEMs). Work with the engineering function in product design, technology, or project environments. Contribute to thought leadership through publications, presentations, and participation in industry consortia such as ASHRAE TC9.9, OCP (Open Compute Project / Open Cooling Platform), TIA, BICSI and IEEE.
Deliver strategic insights and executive-ready presentations to support internal and external decision-making. Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field. 10 years of experience in data center energy systems, electrical infrastructure, cooling or related domains (i.e. hyperscalers, colocation, OEMs, suppliers, standards technical groups). Prior experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex technical projects. Prior experience in business development or product strategy in a technology-driven environment.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Deep knowledge of data center power architectures (Transformers, SST, UPS, PDUs, Switchgear, MV and LV architectures) Deep knowledge of air, liquid, and hybrid cooling systems (CDUs, RDHx, manifolds, chiller plants, heat reuse) for data centers. Track record of publishing, presenting, or contributing to standards/industry consortia (ASHRAE, OCP, IEEE, etc.).
Familiarity with Autodesk design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CFD platforms), integration with digital twin environments, and/or ECLASS/Ecl@ss systems or relevant certification. Experience with advanced visualization ecosystems like USD (Universal Scene Description) and NVIDIA Omniverse. Excellent communication skills – comfortable engaging with executives, engineers, and customers alike. Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability best practices in data centers (energy usage, water use, heat reuse, metrics).
Strong background in customer interaction, technical presentations, and global account support.
