This role monitors that execution, coordinates shipment requirements, intervenes when exceptions arise, and works across internal teams and the TMS Provider to resolve service risks. Areas of responsibility include shipment tracking and recovery, specialized delivery requirements, expedited shipments, spot bids, temperature-sensitive transportation, and in-transit accessorial needs.

- Monitor inbound and outbound packaged-goods shipments across applicable modes, including full truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited, temperature-sensitive, and small-package services.
- Review automated shipment planning and tendering outcomes to identify carrier rejections, uncovered loads, missed pickups, delivery risks, visibility gaps, or other exceptions requiring intervention.
- Coordinate with the TMS Provider and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment exceptions while maintaining accurate and timely shipment information within applicable systems.
- Proactively monitor pickup, transit, appointment, and delivery performance to identify potential service failures before they affect the customer.
- Coordinate the expediting, rescue, recovery, or rebooking of shipments affected by capacity shortages, carrier failures, weather, equipment issues, missed appointments, or other disruptions.
- Communicate timely status updates, risks, and recovery plans to Customer Support, Sales, Supply Chain, and other affected stakeholders, escalating significant service or customer-impacting issues when necessary.
- Identify and coordinate customer-site delivery requirements such as liftgates, pallet jacks, flatbeds, delivery appointments, limited-access service, tarping, and other specialized equipment or accessorial needs.
- Work with the TMS Provider to confirm that required services and equipment can be supported by designated carrier network and within applicable lanes before shipment execution.
- Monitor shipments routed to the spot market and work with the TMS Provider to evaluate available capacity, service, timing, and cost.
- Support expedited, urgent, or nonstandard transportation requests by communicating business requirements and evaluating proposed service options with the TMS Provider and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day operational contact for the TMS Provider, communicating shipment priorities, service requirements, execution concerns, and emerging risks.
- Document recurring service, capacity, visibility, or carrier-related concerns and provide supporting analysis and recommendations to the TMS Provider and internal leadership. Formal carrier contracting and performance management remain the responsibility of the TMS Provider.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Supply Chain regarding order readiness, loading schedules, facility constraints, shipment dimensions, and special…
