• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study
• Day shift position
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience required
• BLS certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and maintain individualized plans of care based on assessment data
• Provide patient information and status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with policy
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned unit
• Utilize nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Initiate discharge planning from day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of discharge
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to attending physician and Charge Nurse
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel
• Delegate appropriately and utilize problem-solving techniques in decision making
• Maintain safety awareness including safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious diseases, slips/trips and falls, and work environment
• Assume charge responsibility following orientation period as requested
