Role OverviewThe Analytical Chemistry Technician prepares samples and performs chemical analysis on materials to develop new admixture products and support customers, Manufacturing, and Quality. The role involves a variety of industry test methods and lab equipment, especially spectroscopy and chromatography, and includes mentorship in experimental design and data interpretation.
Key Duties And Responsibilities- Perform chemical testing using techniques such as wet chemistry, HPLC, GPC, Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, and UV/Vis.
- Conduct chemical analysis supporting concrete admixture characterization and product development.
- Follow established analytical methods for raw materials, in‑process samples, and finished products.
- Develop familiarity with testing methods and equipment and support proper equipment maintenance.
- Prepare accurate data summary reports for internal and external customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
- Follow all Environmental Protection, Safety, Health (EHS) policies.
- Two years or more of study in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is not necessary but helpful.
- Basic chemistry‑laboratory skills.
- Background in Analytical Chemistry preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
The job operates in a laboratory environment using standard office equipment and lab equipment specified for analyses of raw materials and products. Employees perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm.
Physical DemandsThe employee will work at a lab bench, stand, sit, and walk.
