Management Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and successful organisation in Beaconsfield as a Management Accountant. Working within a small and experienced finance team, you will support the Financial Controller across management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

The position would particularly suit an ACCA or CIMA-qualified accountant currently working within accountancy practice or audit who is keen to make their first move into an in-house finance role. You will receive support while developing a thorough understanding of the business, but must bring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills and a genuine desire to develop within a commercial environment.

Salary £50,000–£60,000 depending on experience.

This is a fully office-based position, working Monday to Thursday from 9am–5.30pm, with an earlier finish at 4.30pm on Fridays.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare monthly management accounts within agreed reporting deadlines

* Review and reconcile nominal ledger and control accounts

* Complete accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments

* Prepare detailed profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow reports

* Investigate accounting discrepancies and complete variance analysis

* Support the preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax information

* Liaise with auditors and external tax advisers

* Prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts and reconcile actual performance

* Assist with annual budgets, forecasting and business planning

* Produce financial analysis and recommendations to support commercial decisions

* Support funding submissions and provide financial information when required

* Work closely with accounts payable colleagues to ensure ledgers and payments remain accurate and up to date

* Assist with company secretarial and regulatory reporting requirements

* Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects and wider business activities

Experience required:

* Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA

* A minimum of two years’ experience within professional accounting, audit or a management accounting environment

* Confident preparing budgets, forecasts, cash flows and variance analysis

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Commercially aware and comfortable working with colleagues outside of finance

* Flexible, proactive and willing to support a broad range of responsibilities within a small team
