As a privately owned and multi-award-winning regional house builder, we pride ourselves on delivering bespoke developments in some of the South East’s most desirable locations.

What sets this role apart

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join our established Commercial team in Beaconsfield. Working across a portfolio of premium residential developments, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and to the exceptional standards Shanly Homes is known for.

Working closely with our Commercial Manager and Construction teams, you'll be involved throughout the development lifecycle, from procurement through to final accounts, giving you broad commercial exposure and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Procuring and administering subcontractor packages in line with build programmes
  • Preparing subcontract enquiries, scopes of work and contract documentation
  • Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations, negotiating where appropriate and making commercially sound recommendations
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, variations, contra charges and final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs, identifying risks and opportunities, and helping to ensure developments remain within budget
  • Assisting with cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting across multiple developments
  • Producing accurate monthly cost reports and supporting the preparation of development cost reports
  • Reviewing drawings and technical information to ensure proposals are commercially viable and cost-effective
  • Attending site meetings and working collaboratively with Construction, Technical and Sales teams to support successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
About you

  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, organised approach with great attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy, high‑performing team
What we offer in return
  • A friendly, collaborative team with a genuinely supportive and welcoming culture
  • Beautifully renovated, modern offices providing an inspiring and enjoyable working environment
  • A prime location in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town, surrounded by cafés, restaurants and local amenities
  • Excellent commuter links, just off the M40 and within a 10‑minute walk of Beaconsfield train station
  • The opportunity to join a financially strong, privately owned business with a long‑standing reputation for quality, stability and success
  • Competitive salary
  • Discretionary annual and long‑term bonus schemes of up to 15% of annual salary
  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing to a maximum of 30 days
  • BUPA healthcare cover
