Management Accountant

NLB Solutions are working with a large business that in need of a new management accountant that comes from a hotels background as they have a a multisite, hotels based business that is expanding in the current market across the UK. The business need someone that is either an AAT studier or AAT qualified and will consider someone that needs sponsorship (so long as you have Hotel Accounting experience).

The role will report into the Group Finance Manager and have started recruiting on this role as the business has shown growth in the last financial year. They will also support the individual in achieving the AAT qualification going forward.

Duties:

* To prepare and present accurate and timely management accounts, with accompanying variance analysis

* To be the first point of contact for General Managers and Operations team on day-to-day financial matters

* To assist with financial audits and compliance reviews

* Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with accounting best practice and in line with standard policies, practices, and procedures

* Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple sites, ensuring adherence with accounting best practice and Starboard’s standard policies and procedures.

* Ensure key balance sheet reconciliations are completed to a high quality before month end is closed (including, but not limited to bank, stock, debtors, accruals, prepayments, and suspense accounts)

* Prepare and present the monthly P&L for each site with full variance analysis and commentary, providing insight into the site performance.

* Provide supporting information and analysis to a range of internal stakeholders

* Support the credit control policy and monitoring the aged debt, being an escalation point in collecting aged debts from customers

* Support the Group Financial Controller with embedding and maintaining a robust control environment as well as financial audits

* Reviewing and documenting systems and procedures to ensure that they are adequate, implementing improvements as necessary

* Some travel is required around the UK from time to time visiting our hotels and other venues for business needs.

Person Spec:

* Have completed AAT level 4 (or will be actively studying towards their AAT qualification)

* Advanced skills in the use of MS products particularly Excel

* Experience in process improvement and / or implementation of new processes

* Be an excellent communicator verbally and in writing

* Be a team player

* Experience in hospitality is essential
