Senior Planner – Beaconsfield
This role is for an experienced Senior Planner to join a close‑knit planning consultancy working across a varied portfolio of residential and bespoke planning projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and strategic planning advice, with particular exposure to planning policy matters, domestic extensions, and Green Belt developments.
RoleAs a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission, negotiation, and determination. You will work closely with private clients, developers, and Local Planning Authorities, providing expert planning advice across a range of planning applications and policy‑related matters.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage planning applications and appeals across a range of development projects
- Prepare and review planning statements and supporting documentation
- Advise clients on planning policy matters and development opportunities
- Manage applications related to domestic extensions and Green Belt developments
- Undertake site appraisals and development feasibility assessments
- Liaise with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and key stakeholders
- Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact
- Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
- Approximately 2‑3 years’ planning experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
- Experience dealing with planning policy matters
- Experience managing domestic extension applications and Green Belt projects
- Excellent understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy
- Strong written, verbal, and client‑facing communication skills
- Proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage projects independently
