Teaching Assistant – Mountjoy School

Join to apply for the Teaching Assistant Mountjoy School role at Dorset Council. Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we are seeking to appoint additional Bank Teaching Assistants. Full training will be provided by our experienced and skilful team, so if you are new to Special Schools you will be fully supported in your new role.

Applicants must have achieved a qualification in English/literacy and mathematics/numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework (e.g., GCSE grade C or
4). It would be an advantage if applicants had experience supporting young people with additional needs and an understanding of child/learning development.

Working Hours
  • Monday: 8.55 am to 4.45 pm
  • Tuesday‑Thursday: 8.55 am to 3.45 pm
  • Friday: 8.55 am to 3.35 pm
  • All 5 days, 10.00 am to 2.00 pm (consideration)

Actual Salary: £18,231 – £18,519 per annum (Grade 4, SCP 4‑5) for Term Time Only: 31 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The pro‑rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
