About the OrganizationBeaufort Memorial, a not‑for‑profit hospital founded in 1944 on the banks of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, is licensed for 201 beds (169 acute, 14 rehabilitation and 18 mental health). We are an acute‑care hospital, a regional referral center and the largest medical facility between Savannah, Ga., and Charleston, S.C. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, Beaufort Memorial boasts a dedicated, high‑quality medical staff of nearly 230 board‑certified or board‑eligible providers.

We are looking for a board‑certified Physician to join our expanding primary care team and provide patients with high‑quality treatment and diagnostic services. The ideal candidate is an intuitive healthcare professional whose diagnostic abilities are only matched by their concern for their patients. The Physician role will be responsible for meeting, assessing, and diagnosing patients in our clinic and providing healthcare services that meet state and national standards for caregiving.
Expectations include prescribing patients with appropriate medication, health regimens, and lifestyle adjustments that will contribute to their recovery from diagnosed health issues; prevent future health issues and/or promote a healthier life.
The right candidate may be an experienced physician or a new graduate who has a passion for providing diagnostic services to patients in a rapidly growing coastal setting and will enjoy working closely with other healthcare professionals in our organization.
Position RequirementsEducation:
M.D. or D.O. required. Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare institution. Board certification in primary care or a related field.
- Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
- Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
- Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues.
- Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a valid, current, and unrestricted SC medical license.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and SC Controlled Substance licenses.
