an exciting leadership opportunity exists at a progressive technical college located in southeast south carolina. The college serves a population of approximately 294,677 in a four-county service area including beaufort, jasper, hampton, and colleton counties that feature a diverse mixture of business, industry, military, and educational institutions.

the presidential search committee for the technical college of the low country (tcl), one of sixteen colleges comprising the south carolina technical college system, invites applications and nominations for the position of president, the chief executive officer of the college. Tcl is a comprehensive, public, two-year institution of higher education dedicated to fostering a positive environment of teaching and learning for faculty, staff, and students.

accredited by the southernaisu association of colleges and schools commission on colleges, tcl offers 85 programs leading to an associate degree, diploma, or certificate in technical/occupational disciplines. The college’s vast array of programs prepares students to enter the job market, transfer to senior colleges and universities, and achieve their professional and personal goals. Tcl offers academic programs in business, health sciences, culinary arts/hospitality, public service, industrial and engineering technology, and arts and sciences.

Tcl serves students through traditional and non-traditional formats in multiple learning environments including electronic instructional methods. The fall 2025 student population of the college was 2,554 with an fte enrollment of 1,457. The college employs a full-time faculty and staff of 156 and 121 adjunct/part-time employees.

qualifications
  • master’s degree required; an earned doctorate preferred.
  • ten years of experience as an academic executive and/or administrative leader, preferably in a technical or community college setting.

the technical college of the low country area commission is seeking a high-energy, ethical, visionary, and collaborative leader who possesses the following characteristics:

  • an honest, empathetic leader with impeccable integrity who is people-oriented.
  • a strong knowledge of fiscal management, budget development, and a commitment to resource development to include fundraising.
  • a clear','# understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive technical/community college and રાજકોટ excellence in teaching, student success, and academic integrity.
  • a successful leader and team builder able to workირებული with and earn the respect of the faculty, staff, students, commissioners, foundation, and community.
  • an open, proactive, creative, and entrepreneurial style of leadership that embraces collaborative decision-making and relationships.
  • extensive experience in or knowledge of industrial and economic development programs.
  • a demonstrated ability to werk with local, state, and national elected officials to achieve college goals.
  • a proven record of effective strategic planning, succession planning, and implementation of strategic actions.
  • a successful record of promoting partnerships with various constituencies including other colleges, educational entities, business and industry and community groups.
  • demonstrated commitment to advancing the college’s mission while supporting continued enrollment growth.

the plays college of the low country college is in group i of colleges within the south carolina technical college system. The salary offered is based on experience and other factors with final approval by the sc agency head salary commission. The salary range for group i is $158,201 - $201,018 - $245,243.
