Aircraft Mechanic

The Aircraft Mechanic specializing in 100hr/Annual Inspections are skilled professionals responsible for thorough aircraft inspections, disassembly, and installation of modifications and avionics equipment. With expertise in aircraft and engine systems, they diagnose and repair issues efficiently, while maintaining clear communication with customers regarding maintenance updates and recommendations. Job Summary:

• Read and interpret technical publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other
• To work as a fully integrated, hands-on member of the workshop team, working to priorities communicated by the relevant Manager through the relevant Lead Mechanic
• Turn-around-time for work-in-progress is completed within targets,
• Maintain the highest quality of product expected from an OEM, to ensure a minimal cost of non-quality
• Have a thorough understanding of technical manuals, be able to interpret instructions in written, diagram and technical drawings forms.
• Serve as the individual receiving maintenance priorities and taskings from supervisor in order to complete the team priorities.
• Responsible for communicating any feedback or requirements back to the supervisor or Site Manager and for the overall completion of assigned work.
• Will be familiar with all publications relevant to the maintenance of the F/A-18 appropriate to the assignment and have a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the equipment/systems.
• Maintain CMS Duties for aircraft assigned to MAG-31 at Beaufort SC.
• Perform all maintenance I/A/W appropriate Maintenance Manuals (I.E. Technical Manual (TM), O-Level Manuals, I-Level Manuals, and other applicable publication IAW the PWS).

Job Summary:

• Inspects, repairs, replaces and rebuilds components such as flight controls, plumbing and hydraulic units, aircraft structures, landing gear, anti-icing components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, engines, drivetrain components, auxiliary power units, and ventilation and heating systems
• Uses hand tools, power tools, machines, overhead hoists, and equipment such as external hydraulic power carts and nitrogen servicing carts
• Reads and interprets manufacturer's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning and/or damaged components.
• Performs scheduled, unscheduled, phase, periodic, and other special inspections.
• May remove and install components such as engines, transmissions, gearboxes, fuel cells and systems, flight control actuators, control rods and cables, hydraulic components, and drivetrain components from an aircraft.
• Disassemble, clean, and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, corrosion, foreign object damage, distortions, integrity, or other defects according to technical manuals
• Repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble and/or install components in an aircraft.
• Perform preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections and other miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.
• Flushing gearboxes, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes, and jacking and towing of aircraft.
• Responsible for entering any work and inspections performed into maintenance records and are responsible for verifying that their completed work meets applicable standards.
• May service engines and airframe components to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.
