Overview
3rd Shift, 10 PM – 7 AM, full‑time position in our manufacturing facility with opportunities for advancement. Schwan’s Company, a U.S. affiliate of CJ Cheil Jedang Corporation, manufactures and markets quality foods nationwide, including Red Baron®, Tony’s®, Big Daddy’s®, Villa Prima™, Freschetta®, Bibigo®, Pagoda®, Mrs. Smith’s®, and Edwards® pies.

- Read and interpret basic technical documents
- Knowledge of HACCP as it applies to specific plant operations (certification preferred)

- Ability to work in a variety of temperatures
- Learn and operate standard laboratory equipment and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate in English (verbally and written) to create and document reports
- Read product specifications and perform basic math
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills; intermediate proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen for all employees receiving offers
- Perform quality assurance audits on incoming ingredients, in‑process production, and finished products to meet regulatory and company quality standards.
- Assist in planning and establishing food safety and quality activities and procedures.
- Monitor daily adherence to HACCP and GMPs, reporting issues to management.
- Generate reports such as specification notices and trend analyses using Word and Excel; process SAP transactions to release products from QA hold.
- Verify regulatory formula and procedural compliance of manufacturing systems, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Document review and verification to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, and Product Development teams to gather samples and information needed for product testing.
- Evaluate Certificate of Analysis data against specifications and take appropriate action.
- Work with production management to rework product for routine quality issues.
- Maintain reports of all testing performed and all quality and food safety issues.
- Conduct plant food safety/GMP orientation as needed.
- Perform associated formulation audits and quality checks as necessary and per product specifications.
- Investigate and document incidents involving product or ingredient food safety issues.
- Use required PPE—including bump caps, safety glasses, ear plugs, hair/beard nets, gloves, and safety shoes or rubber boots.
- Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
