Job Description:
Essential Job Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The Environmental Manager’s key duties include the following:
- Review and modify improvements to environmental guidelines and procedures.
- Lead regulatory agency site visits and audits.
- Oversee new environmental permit application.
- Manage internal environmental audits.
- Direct environmental compliance efforts related to air, water, waste, and wetlands regulations.
- Complete all actions required by the Compliance Audit Program.
- Develop and implement daily emission reports.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting including but not limited to Boiler MACT, RATA, HON MACT, Applicable LDAR, Title V, Annual Criteria & Toxics Emissions Reporting, Greenhouse Gas, TSCA, Tier II, State and Federal Waste, Discharge Monitoring, SPCC, RMP, and other applicable environmental compliance reporting.
- Maintain a working relationship with local environmental agencies.
- Monitor and coordinate site waste sampling, profiling, and other disposal processes in compliance with state and federal waste regulations.
- Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs.
- Ensures proper tracking and evaluation of safety and environmental compliance assurance activities and information.
- Promote and raise awareness of the impact of emerging environmental issues at all organizational levels.
- Develop, implement, and train the team on environmental compliance.
- Facilitate environmental training for all employee levels.
- Always present a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain the company's positive reputation.
- Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Assist other departments and administrative personnel as necessary.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- None required.
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering is required.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in air and water permits is required.
- Previous experience as an Environmental Manager is preferred.
- A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High-level knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations impacting the Chemical Manufacturing sector, emphasizing OSHA General Industry and TCEQ regulatory permitting and compliance assurance processes.

Special Requirements
Tools / Equipment
- Basic Computer hardware
- Environmental reporting tools and equipment
Software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Training Management, and Compliance Assurance programs required
- Working knowledge of PI Vision software
Physical
- Ability to lift over 20 lbs. occasionally.
- The ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Ability to effectively communicate through various means required.
- Must pass the required OSHA physical evaluations necessary to participate as a Natgasoline ERT member.
- Some work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment, such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Requires consistent fieldwork at times in extreme weather conditions
- Noise levels are typically moderate but may be at elevated levels when conducting field activities
Work Schedule
- Regular 40-hour work week, or 9/80 schedule.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- May work longer hours to meet deadlines as necessary or to support facility emergencies
Travel
- Less than 10% of the time.
