Mechanical Piping Designer

· Ability to receive direction of drafting by preparing sketches and drawing layouts under the direction of an engineer or design specialist.

· Ability to perform field data gathering with little to no supervision.

· Interaction with other disciplines.

· Computer-aided drafting – AutoCAD, Plant3D, or similar 3D software.

· Developing plans, sections, details, or 3D models from sketches and/or 3D scans.

· Drawing layout, dimensioning, and extraction of drawings from 3D model.

· Field measurements and sketches.

· Ensure that all specifications and standard procedures are followed, high design quality is maintained, and that production is set at an acceptable level.

• Guide coworkers that may have less experience in the field of design under direction of supervisor.

• Located in the Beaumont office with some onsite plant work when visiting client site
• May walk stairs, platforms, scaffolds when visiting client sites
• 0-10% Only when visiting client sites

• Vocational Drafting School
• Vocational CAD Training
• 3-8 years minimum experience
