Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a 911 Operator with the Beaumont Police Department, located in Beaumont, TX. The 911 Operator will be responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency calls, coordinating with emergency services, and providing support to individuals in urgent situations. Additional duties include prioritizing and relaying critical information, offering guidance during emergencies, and maintaining accurate records of communications and activities.

The role requires calm, quick thinking, and effective communication to manage high‑pressure situations and ensure appropriate responses to emergencies.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Emergency Dispatch and a comprehensive understanding of Emergency Services
  • Proficiency in dispatching and handling complex, time‑sensitive situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effectively interacting with callers and emergency personnel
  • Demonstrated ability in providing exceptional customer service in high‑stress environments
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn dispatch‑related software
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal emergency response protocols is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in emergency dispatch or related fields is advantageous
  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
