About the RoleThe Warehouse and Inventory Superintendent for the Gulf of America region is responsible for directing and overseeing all warehousing and inventory management activities for the Shenzi site, the GoA Warehouse in Houma, LA, and the Beaumont New Ammonia Warehouse in Beaumont, TX. This role manages a team of warehouse employees and contractors, Inventory Advisors, and Analysts, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
The Superintendent reports to the Operations Services Manager, GoA, and is accountable for developing warehousing and inventory strategies, implementing system upgrades, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Oversee operations at Shenzi (deepwater US Gulf), Gulf of America Warehouse (Houma, LA), and Beaumont New Ammonia Warehouse (Beaumont, TX), ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant warehousing practices.
- Direct the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment, maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing stock discrepancies.
- Ensure all warehousing activities adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of inventory management systems (e.g., S4/HANA, Lodestar, Control Tower, Sphera), ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory.
- Ensure all inventory records are accurate and up-to-date through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly, coordinating with Inventory Advisors and Analysts as needed.
- Coordinate with Inventory Advisors and Analysts to analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and drive inventory optimization initiatives
- Manage, coach, and mentor warehouse employees, contractors, Inventory Advisors, and Analysts across all assigned sites.
- Ensure team members possess the required skills and competencies, providing training and development opportunities as needed.
- Foster a positive, high-performance work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and job satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and inventory processes, leveraging best practices and new technologies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and external regulations.
- Lead or support the implementation of system upgrades and process enhancements, including user acceptance testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Offshore Installation Managers, and other key stakeholders to support business objectives, forecast inventory needs, and plan for critical spares or high-demand items.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, balancing availability with cost efficiency.
- Communicate priorities, deliverables, and performance metrics clearly to all relevant parties.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse and inventory operations.
- Provide regular reports and insights to management, highlighting achievements, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelors Degree or Technical Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in warehouse, inventory, or supply chain management.
- Experience in the energy industry or similar industrial sectors is highly desirable
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP S4/HANA, Control Tower, Sphera).
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes, cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation
- Ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, forecast needs, and drive optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards for warehousing operations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
