Nurse Manager – GI Alliance

Southeast Texas Gastroenterology (GI Alliance) is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee clinic operations and manage clinical staff.
Position PurposeResponsible for personnel management, clinic operations, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Manage daily clinical staff operations for efficiency and smooth workflow.
- Provide oversight and guidance to clinical employees; serve as primary point of contact.
- Approve time‑off requests while maintaining staffing levels.
- Review and approve bi‑weekly payroll for clinical staff.
- Conduct annual employee performance evaluations and deliver feedback.
- Lead monthly staff meetings to communicate updates on policies and procedures.
- Resolve patient concerns in person or over the phone with professionalism and empathy.
- Prepare monthly utilization reports to optimize efficiency.
- Interview applicants to meet staffing needs; support staffing shortages (e.g., answering phones, scheduling).
- Perform patient‑care responsibilities such as:
- Coordinating patient flow and schedules
- Recording patient history and vital signs
- Conducting patient screenings per provider guidelines
- Supporting providers during exams and in‑office procedures
- Documenting in charts, handling phone triage, administering medications
- Communicating instructions to patients and families
- Verifying prescriptions with physician orders
- Execute clerical responsibilities:
- Managing patient medical records
- Obtaining lab and imaging reports
- Scheduling appointments
- Verifying insurance coverage and demographics
- Updating records for accuracy and completeness
- Fulfill organizational duties:
- Respecting and promoting patient rights
- Responding appropriately to emergency situations
- Escalating patient or staff concerns to supervisor
- Travel between locations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Nursing degree from an accredited institution (BSN preferred); RN license required in the state of employment. - CPR and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years medical office management experience; experience in internal medicine, specialty medicine or GI preferred.
- Knowledge of clinic policies, medical terminology, insurance practices, computer programs, CPT and ICD‑10 coding, and managed care guidelines.
- Skill in effective personnel management, training staff, delegating duties, and written/verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff; flexibly respond to changing demands; plan, organize, prioritize, and direct work of others.
- Experience interviewing candidates and determining staffing needs.
- Experience credentialing physicians and mid‑level providers.
Standard office equipment (computers, fax, copier, printer, telephone).
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements
Requires hand dexterity, stooping and bending to files, mobility, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs, may be stressful. Long periods of computer use and occasional evening or weekend work.
