You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the roleYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, follow Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance, and provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
Howyou will contribute
- Determine donor eligibility: proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies, developing Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings to donors or for guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalency of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN). Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
