Summary/Objective

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks in the kitchen area, service line and dishwashing areas. These tasks include serving food, cooking on grill, evaluating food appearance and good customer service skills; as well as, monitoring for proper handling of food, cashiering, and patient try prep and cleaning.

  • Prepare food items that can be prepared in Fannin following all safe food handling procedures including time and temperature guidelines, handwashing procedures, glove usage, labeling and dating, as well as storage requirements; as well as, receive food items form the main kitchen distributing and storing them accordingly.
  • Assemble patient trays meeting all standards for appearance, portion and quality
  • Set up service lines according to the flow of the meal, while maintaining cleanliness and service standards; as well as, breaking down and cleaning at the end of service and assisting with washing of utensils.
  • Cashiering, counting down drawer with supervisor at the end of the shift, run and log required reports, collect deposit money for pick up, securing the funds once completed.
  • Receive and put away delivery orders using the FIFO system, labeling and dating items; as well as, stocking supplies in preparation for meal periods as assigned, checking and filling floor stock orders and recording quantities left for billing purposes.

Complete all prep work for the next day on assigned station; as well as assuring over all cleanliness of storeroom, kitchen and service area.
