Job Summary

Altria Group Distribution Company is a Fortune 500 organization that provides sales, distribution, and consumer engagement services for the company’s tobacco operating companies. The company is looking for a qualified Sales Manager to join its Field Sales Force. In this role, the Sales Manager will manage an assigned territory, averaging $15 million in annual revenue and encompassing roughly 130 established retail accounts in a non‑commission sales environment.

After completing the company’s comprehensive training program, Sales Managers will be challenged and empowered to:

  • Handle sales and distribution within a given geography, including merchandising as needed
  • Responsibly sell company initiatives to retail partners—including promotions, new brands, inventory management, and pricing strategies
  • Consult, advise, and engage retail partners on category management and business analytics to improve their business performance
  • Develop innovative ways to improve business performance through data analysis, brand marketing, product placement, and purposeful planning
  • Develop and utilize systems to track, measure, and analyze progress against key marketing initiatives and other business metrics
  • Grow leadership capability through ongoing comprehensive training and high‑impact experiences

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary range is $70,900 – $103,900 per annum with an annual incentive compensation target
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees, spouses or domestic partners, and eligible dependents
  • Deferred Profit‑Sharing (DPS) Plan with company contribution of 13‑17% of base salary after one year of service
  • Annual Profit‑Sharing contribution of 8, 10, or 12% based on company earnings per share growth
  • Annual Supplemental contribution of 5%
  • Personal contribution to DPS Plan up to 35% of base salary within IRS limits
  • Company match up to 3% of base salary on DPS contributions
  • Ability to defer up to 50% of incentive compensation into the DPS plan
  • Full vesting of personal and matching contributions within the DPS Plan account; company profit‑sharing and supplement contributions vest after one year
  • Company vehicle (Chevy Traverse) for business and personal use

Additional Information

Driving is required. A valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing for the last three years is mandatory. Any DUI/DWI conviction in the last three years is an immediate disqualifier. Candidates must be able to work full time in the United States without sponsorship. Sales Managers must be able to lift, push, pull, reach, and perform overhead work, and handle bags and boxes up to 10 pounds regularly, 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds seldom.
