JOB SUMMARY:

As an Industrial HVAC Project Installer for Gallo Mechanical Services, you are responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within industrial settings. This often involves large-scale equipment like chillers, rooftop units, and extensive ductwork, requiring a high level of technical expertise to ensure proper functionality and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Key duties include reading blueprints, laying out system components, installing equipment, connecting wiring, performing start-up procedures, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during installation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately install industrial HVAC systems according to project blueprints and specifications, including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and associated ductwork.
• Properly position and secure large equipment components using lifting equipment when necessary.
• Fabricate and install custom ductwork to meet specific project requirements.
• Connect electrical wiring and control systems as per project specifications.
• Commissioning and Startup:
  • Perform start-up procedures for installed HVAC systems, including testing for proper functionality and adjusting system parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during commissioning.
  • Conduct system balancing to ensure optimal airflow and temperature distribution.
• Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on installed industrial HVAC systems to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in complex HVAC equipment, including compressors, motors, and control systems.
  • Perform necessary component replacements as required.
• Technical Skills:
  • Thorough understanding of industrial HVAC systems, including refrigeration cycles, air handling principles, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures for industrial environments.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience installing and servicing industrial HVAC systems, 5-7 years of experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• This position may require working in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
