Cloud Engineer PayPal Beaumont, TX

Our technology stack is growing faster than our team, so Pay Pal is bringing on a Cloud Engineer to keep the architecture honest. Few Beaumont employers pair $46,000 - $75,000 with this much technology autonomy, and fewer still ask only 1 years to earn it.

• Ship the experiment-friendly Prioritization features that move Pay Pal's technology roadmap forward
• Track and report on key performance metrics for technology services
• Integrate third-party services and internal tools into the Pay Pal stack
• Land Python performance wins Pay Pal can measure in TX retention numbers
• Partner with QA to define test coverage and catch regressions early
• Pair-program tricky Splunk edge cases with engineers across Beaumont, TX
• Drive the Serverless incident postmortem that stops the Beaumont outage from recurring
• Translate the fun-loving Infrastructure as Code outage into fixes that make the next Beaumont launch dull

• Comfort being the newest person in the room and the loudest in the notes
• Practical command of Elasticsearch, with bonus points for Python
• Hands-on experience with modern Elasticsearch workflows and tooling
• Fluency across Infrastructure as Code and Prioritization, with strong opinions on both
• Comfort owning a number that goes up or down because of you
