Position Description

Immediate opening for a Dedicated SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver. We are looking for the right trucker to join us at Ryder in Beaumont, TX.

• Weekly average: $1,050
• Hourly Pay: $24.50 per hour
• Hours per Week: 42 + average
• Paid Training
• Schedule:
  
  4 day work week, 4 on 4 off
• Shift rotates AM & PM

• Trucks are three years or newer.
• Ryder Drivers service the route, not the truck.
• 24/7 roadside maintenance by a Ryder trained technician and fuelled at over 800 maintenance facilities.
• Route:
  Local Home Daily - Yard Position - No deliveries.
• Yard Driver experience highly preferred.
• Only leave yard for fuel.
• No freight, no touch, yard work.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle:

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor-trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads.
• Compliance with safety & DOT regulations, continuous training, and customer service.

• Ensuring compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
• Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records.
• Other tasks as assigned.
