Position: Quality Assurance Technician I - (2nd Shift: 6 pm to 2:30 am)

Quality Assurance Technician I – 2nd Shift (6:00 pm to 2:30 am)

Position located at Beaver Dam, WI manufacturing plant. Reports to QA Supervisor.

Base Pay Range

$21.00/hr – $22.50/hr

Essential Functions
  • Perform inspections including Pre‑Operative and Food Safety – document and communicate results.
  • Perform daily operating inspections as needed to ensure compliance with GMP’s and USDA requirements.
  • Perform Magnet and Metal Detector Record Checks and inform Supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Conduct ATP swab tests – daily and weekly line swabs.
  • Calibrate lab scale, pH meter, salt analyzer.
  • Conduct organic start‑up tests, ensuring documentation of no unauthorized cleaner was used, line was triple rinsed, and pH 7 on line.
  • Daily review of previous day’s HACCP records.
  • Change thermometer recorder charts as needed.
  • Perform quality audits – including quality systems, production scales and salt analyzers, and document and communicate findings.
  • Perform inbound checks and verify COA’s to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Keep stock of laboratory and production supplies as directed.
  • Liaise with USDA.
  • Distribute weekly code date sheets on a timely basis.
  • Report and follow‑up on food safety and food quality concerns.
  • Perform pizza line coverage checks.
  • Notify Supervisor of all downtimes.
  • Follow and enforce all food safety PPE/GMP requirements and report any concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Food experience preferred.

Work Environment
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial truck.
  • Frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Noise level in the environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Infrequently required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 40 pounds, and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Universal Pay Verbiage

Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. Expected compensation is $21.00 per hour. Eligible for shift differential pay ($1.50 per hour) and overtime compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and life insurance.
