Production Manager
Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift: (4:00 pm to 2:30 am)
Production Supervisor is responsible for the people, processes, procedures, and related controls to ensure timely and accurate production in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. The Production Supervisor is a hands‑on, working manager accountable for the design, documentation, implementation, audit, and continuous improvement for all production‑related standard work, projects, and related systems.
This position is located in our Beaver Dam, WI manufacturing plant.
The hours of this position are 4:00 pm to 2:30 am. Essential Functions- Ensure timely and accurate production according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Supervise daily production team during assigned shift.
- Responsible for planning appropriate inventory levels to meet production requirements and specifications to achieve customer orders.
- Ensure proper training of all employees regarding GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
- Collect production data and identify variances compared to standards.
- Maintain company Safety and OSHA standards.
- Handle employee concerns and issues.
- Set schedules and approve employee time in the Dayforce system.
- Manage employee time and attendance in Dayforce system and update hours appropriately.
- Update and communicate labor needs regularly.
- Promote safety standards. Record and investigate all safety incidents and near misses to help reduce future accidents.
- Provide and receive feedback to develop employees and future leaders.
- All other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.
- Minimum 4 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.
- Must have experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Must have experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing.
- Must have experience managing employees in a food production environment.
- Must demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability.
- Must have experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Safety first mindset.
- Problem solving skills including Lean 6‑Sigma related tools with excellent decision‑making capabilities.
- Team motivator with a high energy level and diligent work ethic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Must be detail‑oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Ability to show discretion when in possession of confidential information and records.
- Strong computer skills and experience with using an ERP system accurately.
- Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment is cold (30 to 35 degree) on the manufacturing floor.
The Production Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the factory.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
Pay Verbiage
The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $75,000 and $80,000. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and life insurance.
