Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Maintenance PLC Technician - 1st Shift (8:30 am – 5:00 pm)
Join Richelieu Foods as a Maintenance PLC Technician for our Beaver Dam, WI facility. You will work as part of a tight-knit team to maintain line integrity, safety, production, and quality standards in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Functions- Installs, services, and repairs wiring, conduits, fixtures, and other electrical devices and systems in an industrial setting.
- Operates and troubleshoots industrial electrical and electronic systems, including 480 V circuits and control circuits to component level.
- Program and troubleshoot VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs, utilizing Rockwell Automation/Allen‑Bradley software.
- Maintains and updates CMMS records and prepares routine reports and correspondence.
- Uses mechanical troubleshooting skills to support plant maintenance activities.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility.
- Associate degree in industrial electricity, automation, or related field preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of pressure, flow, and temperature sensors and ability to assimilate technical data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to write routine reports.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to operate in limited‑standardization environments.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb regularly and 50 lb occasionally; work frequently involves standing, walking, and reaching with hands.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Experience in the food industry (preferred, not required).
- Prior experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen‑Bradley software.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Interpret safety rules, operational instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively.
- Apply basic algebra, geometry, and problem‑solving skills.
- Interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Experience with CMMS concepts and systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications.
High noise level, frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and occasional work on high or precarious places. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift up to 25 lb, occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull‑time, Monday‑Friday day shift (8:30 am – 5:00 pm) with occasional weekends and off hours as necessary.
