We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician (1st Shift) at our Beaver Dam, WI manufacturing plant. The position reports to the QA Supervisor. The hours are 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential Functions
  • Perform inspections including pre‑operative and food safety – document and communicate results.
  • Perform daily operating inspections as needed to assure compliance with GMPs and USDA requirements.
  • Perform magnet and metal detector record checks and inform Supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Conduct ATP swab tests – daily and weekly line swabs.
  • Calibrate lab scale, pH meter, and salt analyzer.
  • Conduct organic start‑up tests, ensuring no unauthorized cleaner was used, line was triple‑rinsed and pH 7 on line.
  • Daily review of previous day's HACCP records.
  • Change thermometer recorder charts as needed.
  • Perform quality audits – including production scales and salt analyzers, document and communicate findings.
  • Perform inbound checks and verify COAs to assure they meet requirements.
  • Keep stock of laboratory and production supplies as directed.
  • Liaise with USDA.
  • Distribute weekly Code Date sheets on time.
  • Report and follow up on food safety and food quality concerns.
  • Perform pizza line coverage checks.
  • Notify Supervisor of all down times.
  • Follow and enforce all food safety PPE/GMP requirements and report any concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Food experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.

  • Ability to interact and manage conflict in stressful situations while maintaining composure.

  • Ability to read and understand formula sheets.
Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to moving shielding parts and industrial truck, cold, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise.
Physical Demands
  • Regular standing for duration of shift; walking, handling, reaching.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Regular lifting up to 10 lb, frequent lifting up to 40 lb, occasional lifting over 70 lb.

Universal Pay Verbiage:
Compensation depends on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $21.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation.
