Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician – Beaver Dam, WI
Base pay range: $29.00/hr – $33.00/hr
Position Summary: Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborates with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identifies priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carries out tasks; communicates progress and information; determines and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapts to and learns from change, difficulty, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and applying the Open Door Policy in executing business processes.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Keep Walmart rolling by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of fleet equipment—from trailers and tractors to yard trucks and service vehicles.
- Diagnose and solve mechanical issues using skills and company guidelines to ensure safe, efficient operations that meet DOT standards.
- Own the workflow by creating and processing work orders, selecting the best repair solutions, and keeping accurate digital and written records.
- Collaborate and communicate with team members, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth service and timely updates.
- Tackle hands‑on tasks such as brake system repairs, tire installations, and seal replacements with precision and pride.
- $29.50–$33.00 base pay
- Night / weekend premium
- ASE certification premium
- Wednesday–Saturday, 3:00 pm–1:30 am

- Valid state‑issued driver’s license
- Brake inspection qualification (FMCSA Section 396.25)
- Vehicle inspection qualification (FMCSA Section 396.19)
- 2+ years’ experience in trailer inspection and mechanical repair
- College or technical school coursework in heavy‑duty truck/trailer maintenance
- ASE Brake Certification
- DOT vehicle inspection certification
- Microsoft Office proficiency
