Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial/Principal Industrial Engineer Level 2/3 to lead our manufacturing optimization efforts in Beavercreek, OH
.
In this role, you will work together with Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions and drive efficiency improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and define future state possibilities.
Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities.
Conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery.
Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers.
Apply systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery.
Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations.
This position is on-site in Iuka, MS and cannot be performed remotely. Travel is estimated to be around 10%.
This role can be filled at a Industrial Engineer or a Principal Industrial Engineer Level 2/3 depending on the qualifications below.
Basic QualificationsIndustrial Engineer Level 2:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field with 2 years of experience in the following engineering filed;
Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, Project Management, Industrial, Facilities, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Systems or Process Engineering OR Masters in STEM with 0 years of experience in mentioned fields.Ability to work on an assembly floor.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Principal Industrial Engineer Level 3:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field with 5 years of experience in the following engineering filed;
Manufacturing, Aerospace, Mechanical, Project Management, Industrial, Facilities, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Systems or Process Engineering OR Masters in STEM with 3 years of experience in mentioned fields OR PhD in STEM field with 1 years of experience in mentioned fields.Ability to work on an assembly floor.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
Expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies/Kaizen practices
Proficiency in excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.
Experience with data analysis, or data visualization tools
Active DoD clearance
Special Program Access
Demonstrated leadership through community involvement, extracurriculars, etc.
