Overview
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 1 to lead a team of software engineers and provide quality engineering support to programs, IRADs and new business pursuits in the Weapons Integration & Mission Solutions (WIMS) Business Unit. The location is Beavercreek, OH or WPAFB, OH. The role supports the engineering organization goals for people, processes and tools to meet current and future program needs and to foster a world-class Software and Digital Technologies organization.
The selected candidate will collaborate with peers across multiple organizations and act as a functional leader within a strong engineering organization.
The position may include ~15% indirect charging to duties and requires engagement in engineering activities related to the InSITE program and other relevant NGDS programs. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type:

- Provide functional leadership to a software engineering team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainable top performance.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; mentor and coach diverse and inclusive teams.
- Participate in engineering activities related to NGDS programs (InSITE and other relevant programs).
- Support establishment and maintenance of processes, tools and skills to meet current and future program needs within the sector portfolio.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant engineering development project experience, or Master’s with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI).
- Experience delivering sophisticated engineering solutions for Government customers.
- Prior experience in people and/or technical leadership roles.
- Must meet 85% coverage on an existing direct program OR qualify for an open NG requisition at Beavercreek or WPAFB for a technical engineering role.
- Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Experience leading an engineering team in a matrix organization and in Agile/CI/CD environments.
- Knowledge of AFRL/RI contracting processes and procedures.
- Experience working with NASIC, NSIC, AFRL, ACC or DIA; experience managing multiple subcontractors; business development or proposal experience.
