The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Lead Systems Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OH Office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through Model Based Systems Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

Capture, decompose, and trace system-level requirements.

Analyze, define, and refine architectures and interfaces.

Develop system structure and behavior.

Develop SysML-based models to support Air Force programs.

Collaborate with government stakeholders and internal engineering teams.

Stay up to date on state-of-the-art MBSE practices and technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience.

Experience developing models with SysML.

Experience with at least one Model Based Systems Engineering modeling tool.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work within a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Strong desire to learn new technologies.

Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM or Kanban.

Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.

Experience using Teamwork Cloud and Cameo Systems Modeler.

Familiarity with SysML v2.

Experience with model and simulation environments, including AFSIM.

Knowledge of DoD MOSA Initiatives.

Experience with Unit Testing and CI/CD.

Understanding of Military CONOPS and prior experience working with the DoD.
