Join to apply for the GNC M&S Engineer role at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI)
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is a 100% employee‑owned engineering services and solutions company that provides high‑demand technical expertise in Digital Transformation, Modeling and Simulation, Rapid Capability Development, Test and Evaluation, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomy, Cybersecurity and Mission Assurance.
Our government customers want assistance with guidance, navigation and control (GNC) subsystem modeling within their missile models. They need our team to augment their GNC and seekers team by modeling and integrating subsystems, such as navigation systems, terminal sensors, and communication systems, within their Simulink‑based modeling architecture. We bring knowledge of navigation techniques, guidance algorithms, Kalman filters, communications, terminal sensing technologies, and sensor/track fusion algorithms.
We also adhere to their modeling and simulation (M&S) standards and work directly with customers to ensure models meet their M&S standards and design goals. The contractor shall validate model performance against performance data and author a model performance report.
- Two or more years of proven experience in GNC system analysis, including algorithm development, inertial and satellite navigation technology, sensor fusion and integration techniques, and classical and modern controls.
- Knowledge of guidance and navigation techniques for various aerospace vehicles and classical dynamics.
- Skill sets in modeling, simulation, and analysis software such as MATLAB/Simulink and experience with at least one general‑purpose programming language (C, C++ or Python).
- A motivated self‑starter able to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal guidance.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex technical issues and delivering comprehensive written, oral and digital products, including technical writing and presentation development.
- Good analytic skills and the ability to multitask across multiple projects.
